Scope and Contents

The Ellington Field Albums Collection consists of scrapbooks of photographs taken in and around Ellington Field, Texas, during World War I. The photographs document troop training, equipment, and facilities at the field. The scrapbooks also include photographs taken at ceremonies commemorating the death of the French ace Georges Guynemer in 1917. Note: The digital images in this finding aid were repurposed from scans made by an outside contractor for a commercial product and may show irregular cropping and orientation in addition to color variations resulting from damage to and deterioration of the original objects.
