Scope and Contents

German language leaflet (8.5 x 7 inches, 22 x 18 cm) issued by "Männer et Kraskovitz" [physicians Johann G. Menner and Matija Gregor Kraškovič] advertising their "seventh and last" hydrogen balloon ascension to be held in the Prater, a public park located in the Leopoldstadt district of Vienna (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) on Pentecost Monday, June 3, 1816 (or on the following Sunday in the case of bad weather). The first page provides details of the balloon activities planned, with the inflation of the balloon scheduled to start at noon and the ascension to occur at 6:00 o'clock in the evening. The second page lists ticket prices for entering the park on the day of the event and notes that children up to 9 years old may enter free of charge if under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Tickets one-third off may be purchased in advance in the city of Vienna at the Schramblischen publishing house (Dorotheergasse), the Zaronischen coffeehouse (Graben), or in the Jüngling coffeehouse (Leopoldstadt).
