Photographer Nathaniel L. Dewell (188??-1954) was a resident of the State of Nebraska. Although the subject matter of his photographs covered a variety of areas, aviation, particularly with respect to airmail service, comprised a large part of his work. His avid interest in the post office's airmail delivery service, particularly during the 1920s when the transcontinental route reached from New York City to San Francisco, is well documented in the dozens of images he captured relating to that topic.
