Robert Bricker Swope was born in 1888 and worked as an executive in Washington D.C. Mr. Swope took two trips by plane to South America, and was accompanied by his wife Lydia L. Swope on the second trip.

Objects include: many photos, some from the air (some of the 1946 photos are in color); plane tickets; plane schedules; plane routes; airline brochures; correspondence from airlines ( Pan American, Eastern, Panagra, Scadta); hotel reservations and correspondence; travel brochures; maps; business cards; passport; itineraries; postcards; and telegrams. Note: The digital images in this finding aid were repurposed from scans made by an outside contractor for a commercial product and may show irregular cropping and orientation in addition to color variations resulting from damage to and deterioration of the original objects.
