This collection consists of an 8 by 10 inch black and white photograph of Wiley Hardeman Post posed beside the Lockheed Model 5B Vega Winnie Mae (NR105W).
Wiley Hardeman Post (1898-1935) was an American aviator famed for several record flights, including the first solo flight around the world. Post won the 1930 Bendix Race flying in F. C. Hall's Lockheed Model 5B Vega Winnie Mae (NR105W), and the following year Post, along with Harold Gatty, circumnavigated the world in the Winnie Mae. After this historic first, Post bought the Winnie Mae from Hall and flew the same course alone in 1933.
