This collection consists of a cartoon of William Howard Taft, wearing checkered cap, at the controls of an aircraft in the style of a Wright (Co) Model B dropping speeches from large bags to the ground below.
William Howard Taft (1857-1930) was the 27th President of the United States. Edward Winsor (E. W.) Kemble (1861-1933) was a prominent illustrator who contributed to numerous periodicals during his career and served as a staff political cartoonist at Harper's Weekly from 1907 to 1912.

This collection consists of a cartoon of William Howard Taft, wearing checkered cap, at the controls of an aircraft in the style of a Wright (Co) Model B dropping speeches from large bags to the ground below. The cartoon, by Edward Winsor (E. W.) Kemble, is from the September 23, 1911 issue of Harper's Weekly. The caption reads, "In the Enemy's Country, A Suggestion as to the Presidential Possibilities of the Aeroplane." The page measures 11 by 16 inches.
