    Untitled, 1783. Large, elaborate blue, gold and crimson balloon in center of piece, decorated with cherubs, ribbons and faces. The balloon depicted is the Montgolfiere piloted by Pilatre de Rozier & the Marquis d'Arlandes. It is shown preparing to lift-off from the grounds of the Chateau La Muette for the first free flight of human beings, Nov. 21, 1783.
