Two burner units attached to a copper-coiled evaporating tube. Evaporating coil is contained inside a metal housing cover. This object is part of the vintage 1896 gasoline burner line, featured in Vol. 27, No. 3, Pl. 12, Picture "M","Langley Memoir of Mechanical Flight", p. 57. PLEASE NOTE: Vol. 27, No. 3, Pl. 26a ("Details AERODROME No. 5, Half Size, Metric Scale"), decribes this object as being an "Aeolipile."
