Physical Description
Uncolored lithograph of Mrs. Margaret Graham, Mrs. W.H. Adams, and Miss Dean ascending in the Royal Victoria Balloon from the Mermaid tea gardens on August 9, 1837. Margaret Graham (1804-1880) was billed as the first English female aeronaut. The three women ascended without men. The scene shows the balloon over roughly sketched trees and greenery. The women are waving from the gondola.
