Object Details
Date 1917 Country of Origin France Type ART-Prints, Original Medium Print, Ailes Glorieuses, Voisin Airplane Shoots Down a Fokker – Sea of Clouds. Artist Henri Farré, 1871-1934
Physical Description Offset, Lithograph, Print, Ailes Glorieuses, Voisin Airplane Shoots Down a Fokker – Sea of Clouds. The French plane is a Nieuport, not a Voisin. This is the only print in the set where he signed with his full name. It looks like the last letter in Henri is a y instead of an i, but it’s more likely it’s a stylized signature like the long, downward tail on the é in Farré. Dimensions 2-D - Unframed (H x W): 39.4 x 50.8cm (15 1/2 in. x 20 in.)
