Smithsonian Institution Physical Description
This object is basically squared or cube-shaped; designed with two levels of coiled copper tubes. Each level contains a double row of tubing; thus the object in question has four coiled copper tubes. The copper tubes themselves are supported by brackets. There seems to be no reference to this object in Langley's memoirs. Due its unusual design, when compared to the published pictures of other boilers, this particular boiler may be more experimental in nature.
