Object Details
Type ART-Miscellaneous Medium Brooch Physical Description Hanging chatelaine brooch made mostly of silver. Main part of brooch is two small, circular ballooning scenes surrounded by clear gems. Scenes appear to be painted on white enamel, or maybe ivory. Platforms and ropes in the scenes appear to be made of small gold pieces. They are mounted on the clasp for the brooch. Hanging from the main part is a bow inset with more clear stones. Hanging from the bow is a small tear drop shaped ballooning scene, also surrounded with inset clear stones. Hanging from that is another bow, and then another tear drop shaped ballooning scene. There is a hook on the back of the last pendant, probably for securing while being worn. Dimensions Overall: 9.5 × 3.8 × 1.6cm (3 3/4 × 1 1/2 × 5/8 in.)
