This short grounding cable bundle was an accessory for the Sony Handycam SteadyShot video camcorder used with the Thermal Enclosure System-Crystal Observation System (TES-COS) to record protein crystal growth experiments on the Space Shuttle. It prevented static electricity and power spikes.

The technical team who developed the TES-COS gave the entire device, including this cable, to the Museum in 2012 when they ceased flying the equipment.
