NASA had this lens calibration ring available during ground preparations of the IMAX camera used in the payload bay of the space shuttle. As the lens was controlled remotely during flight, it underwent rigorous testing to ensure it was ready for flight. This piece of ground support equipment was used to test the 30mm camera lenses.
