This is an example of the United States Army officer's service cap used during World War I. This pattern was adopted on January 25, 1912. Its dull bronze national eagle insignia is missing. This cap was used by Chauffeur 1st Class Forrest Larkin Berry who served in France with the 278th Aero Squadron, in Toul, France.
