This 14k gold Saturn V rocket, along with the accompanying 14k gold Lunar Module, were made by American Charm Corporation to commemorate the historic Apollo 11 landing on the moon in July 1969. Only four sets were made, three for the astronauts (Michael Collins, Neil Armstrong, and Edwin Aldrin) and one for President Nixon. This particular set was presented to Michael Collins by the American Charm Corporation for the Smithsonian Institution in 1970.
