This is an example of a Royal Canadian Air Force service coat from World War II. This was identical to the Royal Air Force pattern adopted in 1936.
This jacket was worn by Len Morgan (1923-2005). In the spring of 1941 before the United States entered World War II, Morgan went to Canada and jointed the Royal Canadian Air Force and earned his RCAF wings on November 21, 1941. Following the entry of the United States in the war, Morgan transferred into the U.S. Army Air Forces and served in North Africa and Mediterranean theater with Air Transport Command.
