This helmet cover was used on the Gemini helmet worn by astronaut Gordon Cooper during training sessions in the middle 1960s. It is constructed of a foam and nylon padding, and was designed to be placed over the helmet whenever the helmet was not in use as a protective measure.

Transferred from NASA in 1970.
