Uncolored aquatint of Blanchard and Jeffries' flight from Dover to Calais on January 7, 1785. Balloon is aloft over field with farmers observing from the ground. Six line poem is under scene, signed Bassett. Title is actually, "Premier Passage Aerien de la Mer."
'A Paris chez Basset rue St. Jacques au coin de celle de Mathurins. Avec Priviledge du Roy. Par son tres Humble et trés Obeissant Serviteur.'
