This set of Viewmaster discs is from the British science fiction television series, UFO, which aired in 1970. The show was created by Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson with Reg Hill, and produced by the Andersons and Lew Grade's Century 21 Productions for Grade's ITC Entertainment company.
Viewmaster stereoscopic viewers used branded paper discs to allow viewers to see three-dimensional images, in this case still from the show, along with short image captions. These three disks offer viewers a short version of the show's plot about government coverups and alien invasions of the Earth, accompanied by longer descriptions in the accompanying booklet.
When this set became a part of the Smithsonian's collection, a fourth disc featuring "Airplanes of the World" was added to the grouping.
