This framework was located in storage at the Goddard Space Flight Center, and was deemed useful if modified to display the re-constructed Structural Thermal Test Vehicle for the Hubble Space Telescope. The work was performed by Lockheed Corporation, Goddard, and Swales staff members as part of a project to upgrade the HST exhibitry at NASM. The original nature and purpose of this framework is not known.

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center transferred it to NASM in 2008.
