These parts are associated with the Qualification Model of the Apollo Passive Seismic Experiment. Placed on the lunar surface by the crews of Apollo 11 and four later Apollo missions, the experiment measured lunar shock waves caused by moonquakes or impacts on the surface. Data were relayed to receiving stations on Earth.
These parts were donated to the Museum along with the Qualification Model by the Bendix Corporation in 1972.
