This artifact was included in a large 1933 Army Air Corps donation of aircraft engines, propellers and other items. The propeller was designed by the Engineering Division at McCook Field in Dayton, Ohio. From marks on the hub, it was apparently intended for use on a 12-cylinder, 656 kw (880 hp) Liberty engine with a Mercedes Benz type supercharger.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
