This specialized slide rule was included in the back of a book "The Effects of Nuclear Weapons," to illustrate to specialists and interested lay members of the public what kind of destruction could be expected from the detonation of a hydrogen bomb. The book, with its accompanying slide rule, was widely distributed to libraries inthe U.S. The information contained in them was not classified.
