These Apollo Extra-Vehicular (EV) gloves were made by ILC Industries for astronaut Ron Evans who wore them during his trans-earth EVA. The EV gloves were made of a beta cloth exterior with a woven stainless steel (Chromel-R) protective cover. The fingertips were amde of a latex compound and provided the astronauts with a greater ability to feel. The gloves were interechangeable with the Intra-Vehicular (IV) gloves, and were attached to the pressure suit with red anodized aluminium bearings.
Transferred to the National Air and Space Museum from NASA in 1974.
