This is a glove from the Gemini era, worn by astronaut Gus Grissom during training exercises prior to the time when suit and gloves had been chosen for the Apollo missions.

The outer glove was made of white nylon, and provided protection for the inner glove. The inner glove was molded from rubber and nylon, forming a gas-tight bladder and, once attached to the outer glove, was fastened to the wrist disconnect by means of a clamping ring. 1.15 volt fingertip lights with independently powered 30 hr, 1.5 volt battery pack were attached. The lights were operated by moving a toggle switch on each hand.

NASA transferred this glove to the Museum in 1973.
