This is the right glove that Soviet cosmonaut Vladmir Aksenov wore during his launch and entry on board the Soyuz T-2 to the Salyut space station in July 1980. The glove, which was custome made for Aksenov, was part of his Sokol-KV spacesuit. Trained as an engineer, Aksenov travelled into space as a flight engineer. Soyuz T-2 was his second and last mission in space.
E. Laverne Johnson donated this glove as part of a collection of Soviet human spaceflight artifacts in honor of her late partner and collector, Mr. Robin John Burrows.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
