This communications carrier was worn by astronaut Walt Cunningham during his Apollo 7 mission in October 1968. Communications carriers were worn during launch and the mission, and were affectionately known as the "Snoopy Cap" from their resemblance to a famous cartoon character of the era.

It was constructed of an elastic center portion with Teflon fabric sides containing the communications equipment and mouthpiece. It fastened beneath the chin and was worn through the launch sequence and while in the lunar module and on the lunar surface.

Transferred from NASA to the National Air and Space Museum.
