This is a fiberglass cover used to cover the heat shield of a Gemini capsule during its storage and transportation. The available information indicates that it was used with a capsule employed for testing purposes.
McDonnell Aircraft made the artifact and donated it to the museum in 1970.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
