Physical Description Uncolored etching of Blanchard's fourteenth ascent, accompanied by the Chevalier Lepinard, from Lille in Flanders on August 26, 1785. Image shows the balloon ascending from a large field with a crowd of the elite gathered to watch and with soldiers surrounding them. Other observers watch from outside the line of soldiers.
