Physical Description
Uncolored etching of Charles and Robert ascending from the Thuileries gardens in 1783. The image shows the balloon at three parts of the ascension: on the ground, aloft, and far in the distance. A large crowd watches from the ground. A smaller, circular image is below the main etching. This image shows the monument expected to be erected at the location of the ascension.
