Established by the National Academy of Engineering, the Draper Prize was named in honor of Charles Stark Draper, a pioneering engineer of inertial navigation and guidance systems. It is awarded biannually for outstanding achievement in all engineering disciplines that significantly impact society by improving the quality of life or the freedom to access information.
