Physical Description Medallion commemorating Lindbergh's 1927 flight from New York to Paris. Front shows a female figure holding a fleur-de-lis (representing France) and a shield with the stars and stripes (representing the United States), with the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower in the background, and an airplane overhead. Reverse shows the Earth behind clouds with an airplane flying over it. Below the scene, is an inscription that reads: 'Commemorating / The First New York Paris Flight / By Capt. Charles A. Lindbergh / "Spirit of St. Louis" / New York May 20th Paris May 21st 1927.' Dimensions Overall: 8.3 × 0.5cm (3 1/4 × 3/16 in.)
