The Robert H. Goddard Memorial Trophy commemorates Robert H. Goddard, a rocket pioneer whose early liquid rocket engine launches set the stage for the development of astronautics. This trophy is presented to an individual, group, or program deemed to have made the most significant contribution to space activity in the previous year.
