This is a Javelin flying rocket model made of plastic, metal, wood, and pasteboard. It is not known whether it was flown. Along with a parachute, there is a mini-camera in the payload section. Once the motors stopped burning the parachute deployed and the model gently returned to Earth for reuse. Estes Industries made the model and donated it to the museum in 1996.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
