This is a 1:15 scale model of the 1981 version of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Detailed with solar panels and some of the torsion bars and other protrusions. Built by the Lockheed Missile and Space Company who were awarded the contract for construction of the full scale telescope.

Lockheed donated the model to NASM in 1981. This is one of three scale models of the HST in the NASM collection.

Display Status

This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
