Shuttle crews attached this frame to the cycle ergometer and bolted it to the floor of the crew cabin parallel to the bank of middeck lockers. The straight rail extended from the ergometer-pedals unit. The adjustable backrest pad could be positioned along the rail so the length and angle suited each astronaut's comfort for recumbent pedaling. Held in place by a lap belt on the handle-free device, the cyclist could read or listen to music while exercising. NASA transferred this cycle ergometer to the Museum after the Space Shuttle program ended in 2012.
