Physical Description
Uncolored etching of James Sadler's ascent from Merton Fields, Oxford. The balloon is aloft, with a large crowd watching and trees and buildings in the background. Scene of ascent is surrounded by four figures showing hydrogen apparatus. Each hydrogen apparatus figure has corresponding letters, but the key is not present.
