This name plate belonged to flight surgeon/astronaut Capt. David M. Brown. The astronaut symbol near his name suggests that the name plate probably hung at the door of his office at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Brown's family donated this and other personal effects to the Museum after his death with the STS-107 Space Shuttle mission crew aboard Columbia in 2003.
