This small brass flashlight was part of the emergency tool kit assigned to astronauts for use during the Apollo 7 mission in October 1968. It was of particular use when the spacecraft went through nighttime portions of their orbits or vehicle lights were turned off so crewmembers could sleep.
NASA transferred this penlight to the National Air and Space Museum in 1977.
