This is a lapel pin photographic portrait of Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova. On 16 June 1963, Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to orbit the Earth, when the USSR launched her Vostok 6 spacecraft. He flight lasted for almost three days and coincided with the flight of Vostok 5 which launched two days prior and carried Soviet cosmonaut Valery Fyodorovich Bykovsky.
