These pouches were used during Gemini program training to hold camera film magazines. As the Gemini program of the mid-1960s went on, more experiments included cameras, and during missions, they were stored in rubberized fabric pouches like this one. Because of the microgravity environment of space, pieces of small equipment needed to be put in easily accessible and secure pouches so the they did not float freely and get in the way of the astronauts.

NASA transferred this pouch to the Museum in 1968.
