This spacesuit was made for, and worn by astronaut Ronald Evans, Command Module pilot for the Apollo 17mission, which in December, 1972, was the last manned lunar mission. The spacesuit is a modified A7-L in the EV (extra-vehicular) configuration designed by ILC Industries.

While Harrison Schmitt and Eugene Cernan were on the lunar surface, Ron Evans circled the moon in the command module "America", making detailed surveys of the lunar surface. During the return flight, he made a deep-space EVA lasting 1 hour and 6 minutes.

Transferred to the National Air and Space Museum in 1974.
