This suit is an experimental model, modified from an early SPD-143 full pressure suit. The suit was made by ILC Industries and is considered to be one of the earliest Apollo suits. It was not fitted with a thermal coverlayer, and therefore it is possible to see the inner construction and restraint system.
Transferred to the National Air and Space Museum from NASA in 1973.
This object is on display in Destination Moon at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC.
