This early Gemini spacesuit, which had the NASA designation G2-C, was made for and worn by astronaut John Young, during spacesuit developmental and training exercises. The suit has the early boots, originally with an aluminized coating - later Gemini boots were covered with high temperature nylon.
The suit consisted of five major assemblies: the main torso, helmet, boots, gloves and neck seal, with a constant wear garment worn underneath. It permitted considerable freedom of movement while pressurized, and was equipped with communication and bio-medical transmission equipment.
Transferred from NASA in 1982.
