This spacesuit was worn by James McDivitt, Commander of the Gemini 4 mission in June 1965. Gemini 4 was the first American mission in which an astronaut "walked in space."

The suit consisted of five major assemblies, the main torso, helmet, boots, gloves and neck seal, with a constant wear garment worn underneath. The suit permitted freedom of movement, and was equipped with communication and bio-medical transmission equipment.

Transferred from NASA in 1973.
