This spacesuit was worn by astronaut Gordon Cooper in May 1963 during the final Mercury flight.

The spacesuit was developed by the B.F. Goodrich Company from the U.S. Navy Mark IV full pressure suit and selected by NASA in 1959 for use in Project Mercury. It is constructed of aluminum-coated nylon with a resinous-impregnated fiberglass helmet.

NASA transferred the suit and all its components to the National Air and Space Museum in 2003.
