This pressure suit appears to be a B. F. Goodrich Mark V pilot's suit. However, it has scye bearings in the shoulders and the contract number indicates that Goodrich manufactured the suit under a NASA contract, possibly for research and/or testing. The United States Air Force (USAF) was exploring better mobility in pressure suits for fighter aircraft in 1968. As part of this work, engineers made modifications on a Hamilton Sundstrand Apollo suit in the summer of 1968. This work might have been related to the USAF work on the Manned Orbiting Laboratory program at the same time.
NASA transferred the suit to the museum after the Apollo program.
