Display Status:

This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.

Collection Item Summary:

This is a replica of the propeller used by Roy Knabensahue, an early aviation dare devil, on the airship he built in 1905 and piloted over New York City, the first successful flight operation over that city. Although quite crude, it is typical of the propellers used by aviation pioneers.
