This early propeller was on an airplane purchased and flown by Mr. A.H. Hoyt of Ware, Massachusetts about 1914. He was unsure of its origin, but speculated that it was built either at Squantum, Massachusetts or at the Burgess plant in Marblehead, Massachusetts about 1910 or 1911. Attempts to verify this by Paul Garber, the Smithsonian’s first aeronautics curator, were unsuccessful.
